PREMIUM QUALITY MORTISE LOCK FOR PRIVACY DOOR
Door Lock No.H22.1685.007 features solid-brass face and strike plates. It comes equipped for a privacy thumb turn. Our mortise lock is far more secure than other locks that attach to the outside of a door frame.A mortise lock needs a mortise, or a pocket, in the door frame to operate correctly. The bolt of the lock fits into the mortise. Because special door preparation allows a longer and thicker mortise to slide into the pocket in the door itself, providing superior protection. These types of locks require door preparation, so if your door isn't currently mortise to fit this kind of lock, you (or a professional installer) will need to use a mortise saw to cut into the door to fits door lock properly. Take note that not all mortise locks have the same dimensions.
